Story
The New Nature project is a futuristic reflection on new technologies and the role of human within them. The artists’ focus is based on the mankind’s desire to assert itself in the virtual world, as well as the transformation of traditional models of communication and perception of the surrounding world in the modern era. The project’s storytelling has three main directions. The first one brings together works related to the recycling of classical images, aimed at associations with the artistic and cultural heritage of past centuries.
The second section of the exhibition presents works in which the artists explore the peculiarities of «machine vision». The third thematic section concludes the exhibition, offering a new format of art perception through augmented reality. This is the art of the future, and it somehow has to reflect the endless streams of information we deal with every day.
«The New Nature exhibition is an incredible reflection on our past, present and, most importantly, future. Balancing between irony and anxiety, Recycle Group reveals the elegant and strong links between our cultural heritage and the meaningful vector of development on which humanity is travelling today.»

The artistic duo Recycle Group, comprised of two contemporary Russian artists Andrey Blokhin and Georgy Kuznetsov. They are known for their focus on industrial materials such as acrylic, plastic mesh, and polyurethane rubber, through which they investigate contemporary culture from a quasi-archaeological standpoint. Their exploration of the concept of the non-existent has challenged conventional notions of the human-machine relationship, urging the audience to perceive the world through the lens of a machine. Recycle Group has exhibited their work globally, appearing in museums, galleries, and various contemporary art venues across France, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Belgium.
«The New Nature exhibition answers the main question for me: what is Russian contemporary art and how should it be produced and shown? After this project, there can’t and shouldn’t be any questions about Russian contemporary art»

«The main feature of New Nature is the total, comprehensive intervention of art in the spaces of the Winzavod Center - It is art that programmes the spatial scenario of each part of the project, immersing people in a new world clearly designed by artists with its own laws, rules and assumptions»
